Insight is the oldest fair at IIM-A and one of the oldest market research events in the country, with an illustrious history stretching back 22 years.
Over the years, it has become a part of IIMA psyche and an annual event not to be missed. The fair is to be held on 2nd and 3rd October.
The research fair spans the course of a full day on the IIMA lawns. The strength of Insight is its experiential research methodology that is far superior to traditional questionnaire based methods of conducting market research in terms of probing into psychological factors of consumer behaviour. This, it does, through specially designed games in which thousands of people with varied profiles take part.
As consumers are unaware of the market research aspect of the activities, the games are an effective means of bringing out the latent psychological cause of consumer behaviour.

Conference/Symposium/Summit
Energy and Development of any nation go hand in hand. Poverty, climate change, global warming, deforestation, desertification, solid waste disposal are the outcomes of the unplanned development and unsustainable use of energy consumption pattern. These issues are not restricted up to one nation now. They concern for the human race for survival. The Millennium Development Goal can only be achieved by inculcating these issues in daily life and by promoting research and techniques to improve the life supporting system. Environment science is an emerging field where much efforts are required to be done such as to promote the clean energy drive and to get the least waste out of improved technology, facilitate the technology to developing nations to control the GHG gases and to develop mitigation technology to lessen the intensity of the driver of global change. There are many issues that require a great attention like devolution of power to people, utilization of scientific and technical expertise, strengthening of institutional support system.
Call for Papers The research papers are invited on various sub themes of the conference from prospective authors/co-authors from universities/ institutions/colleges. The abstracts (not more than 300 words) can be uploaded on the conference website. Only online submissions and original contributions will be accepted. Registratoin form can also be downloaded from the conference website. In case of any query, contact the organizing secretary via e-mail .
Topics to be covered
1. Measurement of Environmental Radioactivity
2. Water Pollution and Water Quality Control
3. Air Pollution and Air Quality Control
4. Solid Wastes and Other Pollutions
5. Global Change
6. Ecological engineering
7. Environmental Analysis and Measurements
8. Society and the Environment
9. Renewable Energy Developments

Fourth International Conference on Plants & Environmental Pollution (ICPEP-4)...after 2 months
Organiser: National Botanical Research Institute(Research Organisation)
Start Date: 8 December 2010
End Date : 11 December 2010
Conference/Symposium/Summit For Undergraduate level
Most of the environmental concerns faced by the developed countries following industrial revolution and resultant economic boom and consumerism in the past are now spreading to the developing countries as well. Among the scourges faced by mankind today, environmental pollution is in the forefront. In the greater part of the last century, it was the fast pace of industrialization, galloping demand for energy and reckless exploitation of natural resources, in developed countries, that were mainly responsible for creating the problem of environmental pollution. India, with a population well over a billion people, is home to one-sixth of the humanity. It is a developing country, where its teeming millions suffer from poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition resulting in severe degradation in environmental quality and ill health. However, with its strong industrial base, sound infra-structure and phenomenal progress in science and technology, it is poised to become a developed country in not too distant future. It is, therefore, ideally suited to host a conference of this type and magnitude. Because of its sheer size and population, what India does today, will have its impact on the entire planet tomorrow. This is more likely in the areas of environment, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Entire global community, therefore, has a vested interest in supporting and sustaining any move for protection of environment and biodiversity conservation in this country. An International Advisory Committee with some of the most reputed and highly distinguished environmental and plant scientists has been constituted to guide and advice in planning and organizing this Conference. Areas/Disciplines of the Conference
The Conference will cover following broad areas/disciplines:
1. Bioindication & Bioremediation
2. Environmental biotechnology
3. Environmental education, Mass awareness and Legislation
4. Environmental Impact Assessment and Eco-auditing
5. Environment and Biodiversity
6. Plant Responses to Environmental Pollution
7. Biotechnology, GM Food & Environmental Safety (Special Session)
